The Ignition Special Edition (SE) basses are based on the Höfner violin basses from the 1970s. In contrast to the Contemporary series, the Ignition basses have a hollow body.

In addition to the classic control panel with Tea Cup knobs, they are equipped with a wooden bridge and trapeze tailpiece and carry the traditional Höfner logo on the body. The new Cavern Version (HI-CA-SE-SB) of our Ignition bass offers the famous pick up spacing from 1961 in addition to the features already mentioned. All Special Editions come with a certificate of authenticity and the famous BASSMAN sticker.

Featuring an offset double cutaway solid body, With a 34 in. scale 21-fret rosewood fretboard. Quilted Maple top with two VFL internally-active pickups, 3-band active EQ, single master volume, mid, bass, and treble controls, black hardware  available in stunning translucent green. 

This bass has been completely renovated and now features an all new black hardware upgrade. 

With a string through or top load bridge you can personalise your tone and feel as well as dialing in specific sounds using the active treble, middle & bass controls. With a master volume and a pan control to select pickups this versatile bass is a pro level instrument at a fantastic price point.
